Frugal Friday // Week 4 + Styling a Simple White Tee

IMG_1222

I don’t know about you but sometimes, especially in the summer, I just want to be COMFY and feel like I don’t have to tug on this and tug on that to look like I have it all together (I know you feel me). This outfit is so simple, so casual, and so comfy. The main piece? A simple white tee.

This tee is from the amazing Ellis and Company. Guys, this company is going to be super involved with my Frugal Friday series because they have the most amazing prices! I just can’t get enough of them.

A tee that is almost an exact replica is currently being sold at Nordstrom from $72.00, you can find it here. Its at Ellis and Company for $27 (holy amazing price difference!) and I’m in love with it. The quality is extremely durable and so soft. Plus, I have a coupon code for you! I swear giving you coupon codes it my absolute favorite thing. Use “Whit20” for 20% off your whole order at Ellis and Company! The this top will end up being $21 with the code, holy cow!

The beautiful necklace is from Larae Boutique, yes the same boutique that I got that beautiful gold and white clutch from in my Summer Date Night Look post. The necklace is only $5 with coupon code “whitj10” for 10% off anything in their shop!

The head wrap is from my favorite head wrap company, Moxie and Threads use code “whitjmoxie” for 20% off, this is an ongoing coupon code, remember to find all of my ongoing coupon codes on my “Coupon Code” page.

Now for the price breakdown:

Headwrap: $7 from Moxie and Threads use code “whitjmoxie” for 20% off your whole purchase. (make sure to sign up for Ebates to get money back on your purchase at Etsy!)

Sunglasses: $6 at J Crew Sale semiannual at the Outlets at Traverse mountain, they were half off and then another %25. (make sure to sign up for Ebates to get money back on your purchase at J Crew online)

White Tee: $21 at Ellis and Company with code “Whit20” for 20% off your whole purchase.

Necklace: $5 at Larae Boutique with code “whitj10” for 10% off anything in their shop!

Jeans: $25 from Target (use the Red Card for 5% off your purchase, also make sure to use Ebates to get cash back for your purchase at Target!)

Cutest Sandals Ever: $15 on GroopDealz, an amazing site that brings you incredible deals on a daily basis. I got these sandals for over half off from them!

Total: $79

5 Fashion Items Worth The Investment + Where To Find Them Cheaper

FullSizeRender

I have been working on this post for you for a very long time. As you know, I am all about achieving beauty on a budget. However, I do understand that sometimes it’s necessary to buy items that are better quality because in the long run it actually saves you money. I put a lot of thought and research in this one for you so that I could get my top 5 “worth the investment” items that I can’t live without…but where you can find them for cheaper. Because lets face it, I am still ALWAYS looking for a good deal. This post is a little lengthy, I apologize. I promise it will be worth your while :).

Before you read: I talk a lot about Ebates throughout this whole post. Ebates is an incredible company that give you cash back (for real) for whatever you buy on a ton of websites (I mention some of my favorite in this post). Click here to get set up. Be sure to use Ebates when shopping online, and coupons . If you don’t have a coupon, google one! I rarely ever buy online without a coupon, they are so easy to find.

5. Nude or Black Pumps– lets face it, every girl needs a nice nude or black pump.  IMG_0907

WHY their worth the investment: Both of those colors go with everything and for those long days at work or weddings, its nice to know that you have a good comfy pair that won’t break your toes off….we’ve all been there. Being uncomfortable and grumpy because you feel like your feet are about the explode is not the way to go.

WHERE to find them cheaper: Lauren Conrad has a fantastic line sold at Kohl’s (3% cash back through Ebates), I bought two pairs- one black (pictured), one tan- of her peep toe booties about a year ago and I never want to take them off. They give me an excuse to wear heels because they are literally just as comfy as flip flops. They were originally $59 but I bought them with a 30% off coupon so they were about $40. Kohls is always… and I mean ALWAYS having sales. So keep an eye on them and snag up a pair of Lauren Conrad shoes, they are comfy and will last you forever; worth the investment for sure….and these nude pumps are just fun to stare at.

4. Purse– Having at least one nice purse that will last you a years is definitely the way to go.IMG_0805

WHY its worth the investment: I found that I would get these cheap little $10 purses and two months later the silky inside would have a hole in it and I would have to buy a new one, not worth it! If I buy a purse that is a little bit nicer and a neutral color that goes with everything, I treat it better and it stays cleaner (maybe thats just me?)

WHERE to find it cheaper: purses can be so expensive. I am not one to fork out over $50 on any one item… ever so my experience on this one has been trial and error. My favorite high end quality purses, for not high end prices are from H&M. I have two purses (one of them is pictured) from there and the quality amazes me. I have had one of them for over two years now. The purses I have bought from there you can find here and they are $39. However, H&M is constantly having sales, online and in store so sign up for their email list and keep an eye on their sales, I guarantee you can get it for cheaper.

3. Perfume- I love delicious smells! I am such a sucker for a good smell on me and my hubs. But for most of my life I have always bought the cheap “perfume” or opted for the body sprays.Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 11.07.05 AM

WHY its worth the investment:  I hate to say it but the real stuff really does work ten times better. It lasts way longer and smells way better. When I was hooked on the cheap stuff (about $10-$20 bucks a bottle) I would go through an entire bottle in a couple of months, using it day after day, hour after hour because it just wore off. Now, I buy the real stuff and replace it once a year, maybe even once every 18 months, depending. My favorite smell ever is Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture.

WHERE to find it cheaper: For Christmas this past year my hubs got me my favorite Viva La Juicy from retailer Fragrancenet.com (4% cash back through Ebates), a 3.4 oz. for around $40, over half off. Shop around, there are tons of stores that carry perfume and cologne at discounted prices, Sephora (8% cash back through Ebates!), and Perfume.com to name a few.

2. Sterling Silver Ring Or Any Special Jewelry: I am a sucker for personalized jewelry. I love looking at it and having it remind me of something or someone that I care about. Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 11.12.05 AM

WHY its worth the investment: If I am buying special jewelry or any ring that I will be wearing more than once, (for fear of green fingers) I always buy sterling silver, not silver plated, the real stuff. If I opt for the $5 ring from Claire’s, in about a week I will be sad because my jewelry is ruined and my finger is green.

WHERE to find it cheaper: Believe it or not, there are so many Etsy (2% cash back through Ebates) shops that sell Sterling Silver jewelry for absolute steals! I have had this exact sterling silver heart ring for almost three years with AJ and I’s initials engraved not he front. I wear it every single day and it still hasn’t worn out or turned my finger green. Its only $18. Amazon is also another fantastic place to get sterling silver jewelry for cheap.

1. Leggings– I don’t know about you but I wear my black leggings way too many times each week than I am willing to admit to you at this moment. I lounge in them, go out in them, play in them, clean in them, etc. DSC_0119

WHY its worth their worth the investment: If I skimp on my leggings and get the $5 pair of Walmart, there will be, without a doubt, a whole in the crotch within a month. Then I’ll have to buy some more and it turns into this vicious cycle of buying leggings and before I know it I have spent $40 dollars on numerous pairs that I don’t even like.

WHERE to find them cheaper: I got my favorite pair of black leggings over a year and a half ago and they are still in perfect shape. I got them from Victoria’s Secret for about $34, originally $64, I waited until I saw them on sale and used my $10 off any purchase birthday coupon (sign up for this if you haven’t already!). However, I just looked online and found them on clearance for $29.99 here! Buying these leggings and having them last you years is so worth $30, so worth it!

So tell me your thoughts, what are your favorite fashion items that you think are worth the investment?

Frugal Friday! Full Outfits and Accessories under $100 // Week 1

IMG_0798

Today I start “Frugal Friday” series and I am so excited about it! I have some great companies lined up to be a part of this series, I promise that you will not be disappointed. Every Friday I will be showing you how you can create a kill outfit for under $100, sometimes even under $50.

Beauty on a budget is really important to me, here’s why: My hubs and I just graduated from college this past April. Being college students, paying for our education, and working part time didn’t give me much wiggle room for new and/or expensive clothes. However, I have a passion for fashion that I (or my poor hubs) can’t ignore. So, I had to find a way to still appease my passion but stay within a budget. I started to search out deals everywhere I went (or shopped on line). If I didn’t have coupon for it or it wasn’t a certain percentage off then I wouldn’t buy it. I still found a way to stay on trend. Believe it or not it is possible and in this series I am going to show you how!

Here are the outfit deets:

Kimono: $23 Jane.com from vendor Three Brunettes Boutique

Flowey top: $12 Jane.com from vendor Stella B. Clothing

Pants: $22 from Target (with $5 off coupon from their weekly ad and my Red Debit card, saves you 5% every time you shop no matter what and the best part is that its not a credit card 🙂

Shoes: $20 from Target (shoe sale, buy one get one half off. They do this promotion often. But I just saw this exact pair there for under $19 right now!)

Clutch: $5 from Magnolia Mill (this company is seriously amazing she ALWAYS offers free shipping on everything and several times a WEEK she posts deals for $5 off your order or 20% off your order, etc. I got this clutch over half off on one of her sales, it’s originally $12 which is still an amazing price!)

Bar Necklace: $8 Three Chicks Couture (with 30% off coupon, the shop owner is amazing, she posts deals all of the time! If you see something you love in her shop chances are she will be posting a coupon code soon and you can snag it up then!)

Bracelets: $4 from Target (off of their sale rack by the accessories, they put things there after them being on the shelf for like a month so if you see something you love for full price, wait a few weeks and you will find it on the sale rack for 50% -or more- off).

Sunglasses: $5 from Forever 21

Total Price= $99

Please let me know if Frugal Friday is helpful! What are some of your tips for being fashionable on a budget? I would love to hear! Thanks for reading :).

Summer is HOT// My Tips On Staying Cool

IMG_0720-1 This Summer has been the hottest Summer in Utah for a very long time. Now, I am a huge fan of Summer time (who in the right mind isn’t??) but when it’s this hot this early into Summer, it definitely make things interesting. I am going to share with you how I stay cool without sacrificing style or modesty. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and we believe in being modest, especially after we have been endowed in the Temple (even though that is what I believe, it totally doesn’t mean I don’t love you all the same if you don’t feel the same way… I promise!). Thus, I have always had a hard time when Summer came because its so HOT and when it’s so hot the only way to cool down is to wear less…right? WRONG! Here are my tips on how: Skirts, dresses, and sandals, oh my! 1. Dresses- I LIVE in skirts and dresses in the summer time. Lately I have been obsessed with Baseball tee dresses. There are so many amazing midi dresses out there that are so comfy and so BREEZY. Yes breezy, I feel way cooler in a midi dress than I even do in capris. Sometimes I have the problem with dresses not being quite long enough, when I run into this problem I always size up. More baggy and less fitted is definitely in right now so its a win win 🙂 Here are links to some of my favorite summer breezy dresses: Moxie and Threads (remember to enter in “whitjmoxie” for 20% off your purchase) Mindy Mae’s Market, and Sonnet JamesIMG_0637 IMG_0824 IMG_0634 2. Sandals… let yo feet breathe!! Lets also talk about how amazing sandals look with skirts and dresses. Here are some of my very favorite sandals right now: PS I Adore You, Target (they have a promo going on right now, save 20% on shoes and accessories), and Piper and Scoot 3. Skirts with graphic tees, lets be honest here… graphic tees are all the rage and I am SO HAPPY ABOUT IT! Just like dresses, skirts give you that easy breezy feeling in this summer heat. It is the perfect way to stay nice and cool. Graphic tees are so cute and are completely effortless, you honestly can’t go wrong with a graphic tee. Add a graphic tee to any skirt and I promise that you will be rocking it. Here are some of my favorite summer skirts: Modest Pop, and Laurel Sherbert (you know getting two for one is like my favorite thing…look at these skirts and you will totally know why I love them. Enter in code “SUMMER15” for 20% off your purchase). Now for some of my favorite graphic tees: Arsenic and Lace, and Sweet T’s Design. IMG_0591IMG_0812 4. McDonalds Diet coke….nuff said- keep yourself hydrated! I know this isn’t fashion related but I think my veins bleed diet coke so I had to add it in here :). I would LOVE to hear how you stay cool in the Summer, comment below and let me know! Thanks for reading! FullSizeRender

Pink, Tulle, and Floral // Getting the Most Out of Your Purchases

IMG_0823

My outfit today involves three of my favorite things; pink, tulle, and floral. These three are such a great combination together, you really just can’t go wrong. You might recognize this shirt from one of my previous posts a few back called Laid Back Summer  Lovin! In that post I styled this shirt very casually. But this time around I styled it fancy. Which brings me to the topic of how to make the very most out of your purchases.

I am not, nor will I ever be, the type of blogger who buys prada and wears Louis Vuitton, there is absolutely nothing wrong with those designers but I am just not a designer type. When I buy, I buy for style (of course) but I also buy for versatility. My hubs and I have a budget we set each month and I stay within that budget, even as I blog. In order to do this I look for pieces to buy that I know I can wear at least two different ways, like this shirt. If I can’t wear it two different ways then I rarely buy it…unless I am in LOVE with it and in that case…well you know what that case is :).

This shirt is from White Plum right now you can get 40% off your order of $40 or more by entering in code “AMERICAN BEAUTY”

What are your tricks for style on a budget? I would love to hear from you! I am always looking for new ideas. Thanks for reading!
